Department of Education
The Division of Education Services develops and delivers strategies for continuing judicial branch education and training to members of the Kentucky Court of Justice.
Education Services provides continuing judicial and professional education seminars for judges and court support personnel (clerks and deputies, court administrators). Supreme Court Rule 8 establishes mandatory judicial education for justices and judges of the Court of Justice. They are required to attend at least 25 hours of approved programs in a two-year period. Circuit and District judges have annual judicial colleges and specialty programs when needed.
Clerks have conferences every year in addition to regional programs, particularly after legislative sessions. Also, accounting programs are conducted for bookkeepers in the clerks' offices.
