Department of Facilities
The Judicial Branch is responsible for providing citizens with safe, efficient, cost-effective buildings in which to exercise their constitutional rights and privileges. The Administrative Office of the Courts, in partnership with county governments, maintains and operates nearly 350 court facilities throughout the state.
The AOC Department of Facilities provides oversight and administration of court facilities in accordance with KRS 26A and the Kentucky Court of Justice Rules of Administrative Procedure, Part X: Real Property Management.
This oversight includes the construction of new judicial centers; the expansion, renovation and adaptation of existing courthouses; the management of lease space; and the maintenance and repairs of buildings and grounds.
