Information Center:

First Aid Service:
Located in the Sheriff's Office, northeast side of the 1st Floor.

Foreign Language Interpreter:
All departments within the Circuit Court Clerk's Office have access to over-the-phone foreign language interpretation service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Handicap Accessible:
There are two elevators. There are also ramps for handicapped access to the building.

Pedway:
There is a connecting walkway between the Hall of Justice and the Judicial Center located on the north side of the 2nd Floor of the Hall of Justice and the south side of the Judicial Center.

Security:
Entrances have magnetometer security systems to assist in the detection of metal objects. The magnetometers are staffed by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

  • Criminal Grand Jury indictments for adults and juveniles indicted as adults
  • Circuit Court Expungement
  • Circuit Criminal Appeals
  • Circuit Criminal Warrants - Must be obtained in person by the defendant or their counsel
  • Warrant information is not available over the telephone
  • Circuit Criminal Cash Bail Bonds - Valid picture I.D. is required and bonds to be paid in currency, certified check or a cashier's check. NO PERSONAL CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS ARE ACCEPTED FOR PAYMENT OF BONDS. There is a $4.00 non-refundable filing fee above the face amount of the bond. Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Circuit Criminal Bail Bond Refunds - Valid picture I.D. and bond receipt are required. No bond will be refunded unless ordered by the court. Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Circuit Criminal Property Bonds - Valid picture I.D., deed or certified copy of deed, an assessment from the Property Valuation Administrator's Office, and a statement from the mortgage company, if property has a mortgage, as to how much equity there is in said property. If more than one person is named on the deed, these parties must be present with a valid picture I.D. If there is a deceased party on the deed, a death certificate must be presented for that party. NO BOND WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ARE CONDITIONS ARE SATISFIED. There is a $4.00 non-refundable filing fee above the face amount of the bond.
  • Circuit Criminal payments: restitution, fines, Probation and Parole Supervision fees, court costs, Public Defender fees, Expungement fees, and filing fees for appeals. PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Payments may be mailed to: Criminal Division, Jefferson Circuit Court, Jefferson County Judicial Center, 3rd Floor, Room 331, 700 W. Jefferson St., Louisville, Ky. 40202. INCLUDE CASE NUMBER AND TYPE OF PAYMENT.
  • Criminal case files from 1999 to present. Computers are available in reception area to locate case numbers and perform records checks from October, 1993 to the present. Indexes from 1978 to October, 1993.

Forms of Payment:
Personal checks are not accepted.

  • Inmate status is obtained by contacting the Department of Corrections at 502-574-2167.
  • Non-payment of restitution must go through the Commonwealth's Attorneys Office. Their telephone number is 502-595-2340.
  • All copy work is 25¢ per copy and must be paid for in advance. All certified copies are $5.00 per document, regardless of length.

  • Accepts payment of fines and court costs (court ordered and citations)
  • Posts cash and property bonds
  • Reschedules missed court dates
  • Accepts proof of citation offenses (insurance, vehicle registration, repairable traffic charges, such as headlight, muffler, cracked windshield, etc.)
  • Expungements (purging of violation after five years have passed from date of final disposition)
  • Accepts proof of volunteer work in lieu of fine payments by order of court releases liens for property bonds and returns cash bonds
  • Provides information regarding recent arrests
