Seat on Kentucky Court of Appeals now vacant for 3rd Appellate District, Division 1

By virtue of the decision of R.W. Dyche III of London to forego accepting election to the office of judge of the Court of Appeals for the 3rd Appellate District, Division 1, a vacancy has been created pursuant to KRS 62.010. An election to fill that vacancy will be held Nov. 6, 2007, subject to a primary election on May 22, 2007. The Secretary of State is now accepting candidate filings from those who are qualified. The filing deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at 4 p.m.

The 3rd Appellate District is comprised of Adair, Bell, Casey, Clay, Clinton, Cumberland, Estill, Garrard, Green, Jackson, Knox, Laurel, Lee, Leslie, Lincoln, Marion, McCreary, Metcalfe, Monroe, Nelson, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell, Taylor, Washington, Wayne and Whitley counties.
