FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Anderson County Circuit Court Clerk Jan Rogers has been elected by her fellow clerks to serve as president of the Kentucky Association of Circuit Court Clerks. Rogers was elected to the office during the 2008 Circuit Court Clerks Summer College held June 18-20 in Lexington. Her term as KACCC president is July 1, 2008, through June 30, 2009. Rogers succeeds Nelson County Circuit Court Clerk Diane Thompson.

Circuit court clerks have offices in all 120 Kentucky counties and are responsible for managing the records of circuit and district courts. The Anderson County Office of Circuit Court Clerk is located in the Anderson County Courthouse at 151 S. Main St., Lawrenceburg.

"It's an honor to be elected president of an association that has played an important role for more than 100 years," said Rogers. "I look forward to working with Chief Justice John Minton, my fellow circuit clerks and Administrative Office of the Courts personnel to better serve citizens through the Offices of Circuit Court Clerk across the state. I also appreciate the hard work and dedication of my staff who will help lighten my workload while I carry out my new duties."

Rogers has 25 years of experience in the Anderson County Office of Circuit Court Clerk. She served as a deputy clerk from 1983 until her election to circuit court clerk in 1993. Prior to being named president of the KACCC, she served the association as secretary and chairwoman of the Bylaws Committee and is currently chairwoman of the Drivers Licensing Committee.

Rogers said the Anderson County Office of Circuit Court Clerk has helped launch several pilot projects initiated by the Administrative Office of the Courts. "I'm pleased that my office was one of the pilot sites for KyCourts II, our court case management system; the electronic FTA (failure to appear) process; and a new jury management program. Kentucky has one of the top court systems nationwide and I'm very proud to be a part of it."

The AOC provides administrative support to 4,000 Kentucky Court of Justice employees, including the elected offices of justices, judges and circuit court clerks. 

Rogers is a lifelong member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Lawrenceburg where she has been chairwoman of the board and Sunday school superintendent. She has also been a board member for the local chapters of the United Way and the American Cancer Society. She and her husband, Mike, reside in Lawrenceburg with their son, Kyle.
