Citizens Foster Care Review Boards (CFCRBs) are mandated to review case files of all children committed to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS). The CFCRB mission is to ensure that permanency for at-risk children remains a central objective of the courts and the CHFS.

Court Designated Workers (CDW) process juvenile complaints against persons under the age of eighteen. CDWs exist for the purpose of placing children in alternative placements prior to arraignment, conducting preliminary investigations, and formulating, entering into, and supervision of diversion agreements.
